Afghanistan: The Board of
Directors of Harakat – Afghanistan Investment Climate Facility Organization is
pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Hojatullah Fazly as the new Chief Executive
Officer. Mr. Fazly succeeded Mr. Noor Alam Hakimyar, the previous CEO who has
moved to the Board of Directors as its new member.
Mr.
Fazly is an international political economist and a development practitioner. His
research interests span the fields of global political economy, international
relations and development studies. Mr. Fazly has served in different senior
level capacities in the past for international organizations such as UNDP,
World Bank, USAID, and SID in the Netherlands. Mr. Fazly has extensive leadership experience from
the private sector industry and has demonstrated his ability to building
successful organizations and businesses, he has been a professional in
the areas of private sector development, economic growth, governance, and
institutions building.
As
Harakat enters into a new phase to focus on new strategies with its donors and
partners to diversify its engagement with the Afghan and international
stakeholders, the Board of
Directors of Harakat is honored and very pleased that Mr. Fazly has accepted
the position of CEO and is confident that he will be a force in developing and
driving Harakat forward – in a very exciting but also challenging time.
The
Board of Directors trusts that under the leadership of the new CEO, Harakat
will be able to expand the scope of its activities and contribute to results in
strengthening the country’s private sector and economic development.
