On January 13, 2020, Harakat singed an MoU with Da Afghanistan Bank and Supreme Court based on which, 240 judges and prosecutors will receive trainings on commercial and financial laws in 34 provinces and in 8 economic zones. This project aims to strengthen the rule of law by improving and enhancing the capacity of judges, prosecutors, and other officers of the justice sector in Afghanistan. It will also help the private sector in the commercial arena by broadening understandings of the sector on legal matters, and it enhances the business environment in Afghanistan and reduces time and cost for the private sector while dealing with commercial matters.
Additionally, a centralized online portal will be created in the Supreme Court to upload the Commercial Courts’ decisions from all over the country and their status that will enhance the transparency on commercial court decisions and improve private sector awareness and confidence on the commercial court’s decisions.
Led by the Supreme Court, the project is planned to be completed within six months and will be fully funded by Harakat.
